Amosun Offers 15 First Class TASUED Graduates Automatic Jobs

Deserved succour came the way of fifteen graduating students from Tai Solarin University of Education, TASUED, Ijagun, Ogun State, as the governor, Ibikunle Amosun publicly announced automatic employment to the students.

Speaking at the combined convocation ceremonies of the institution, where close to 11, 000 students were graduated on Friday, the governor offered automatic employment to the 2012/2013 Best Overall Graduating Student, Mr. Adeniji Kayode and 14 others who excelled with first class honours.
Amosun, who also reiterated that TASUED has come to stay, assured that affordable and qualitative education remains the focal point of his administration.
He noted that the ceremony was another stamp of accomplishment and unbridled qualitative education service delivery since the establishment of the institution.
“It gladdens my heart to note that you have relentlessly worked hard to sustain yourself in the midst of great number of higher institutions in Ogun state. TASUED has proven it is a great citadel of learning where academic excellence and good moral training are impacted on the students.
“It is gratifying to note that in less than 10 years of being a full-fledged university, Tai Solarin University of Education has become one of Nigeria’s best universities, consistently among universities at the top of the Nigerian university League. Also, it has continued to be a pacesetter and trailblazer in the provision of qualified teaching corps.
“This institution has not disappointed in its mandate of producing successful graduates that have carved a niche for themselves in their different endeavours and continued to contribute their quota to the socio-economic development of our great nation,” Amosun posited.
The governor charged the graduates not to see their certificates as mere meal ticket, but rather develop their intellect and horizon as well as equip themselves with the knowledge and skills to appropriate abundant opportunities that abound in the nation.
While reinstating his administration’s commitment to making education more affordable, the governor disclosed that, “our administration reduced school fees in all the ten state-owned higher institutions of learning by 60 per cent in some cases. The goal of this policy is to make education more affordable to more people and create a relief for all parents.”
Prof. (Mrs.) Oluyemi Obilade, the Vice Chancellor of the University, noted that the institution is the first university of education in Nigeria, second in Africa and eight in the world. She said it has been established on solid principles and platform which characterized the person of Tai Solarin, the late renowned educationist, who the school is named after.
