No Racism, Ferguson encounter was an accident.
Picture shows a no racism behaviour in Michael Brown's mishap. An African-American boy holding a "Free Hugs" sign stood crying in front of a police barricade at a Ferguson rally in Portland. A white police officer motioned for him to come closer. The officer then asked the boy for a hug — and they embraced, the boy's anguished face streaming with tears.
How to Teach People to Tithe Without Resentment
“Give and it shall be given unto you….” (Luke 6:38). “It is more blessed to give than to receive” (Acts 20:35).
A cartoon shows a fellow in the cemetery holding flowers. The epitaph on the stone before him reads: “Eternally peeved at those who never showed me how to tithe.”
That may well happen.
Since our Lord said giving as He taught means laying up treasure in Heaven (Matthew 6:19-21), it follows that some in Heaven are going to be poorer for not having done that.
What does it mean to “be poorer in Heaven”? I don’t have a clue.
But there it is.
The bottom line is simply that some spiritual leaders (pastors and teachers) are failing to teach stewardship and will be in trouble when they stand before the Lord. That should matter to us.

POPE FRANCIS ENDS TURKISH TOUR TODAY.
Turkey— Pope Francis demanded respect for religious freedom during a meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Friday, a call that will resonate particularly with Christians who say they suffer discrimination in a country where Islam has reasserted itself in the public sphere.
At the start of a three-day visit to Turkey, the pope also reaffirmed his belief in dialogue between religions, saying it could be a key part of bringing peace to the region. Relations between Christian and Muslims have come under strain in recent months amid violence against Christians by Islamic extremists in Syria and Iraq, with some critics saying Islamic leaders haven’t denounced the atrocities strongly enough.
“It is essential that all citizens—Muslim, Jewish and Christian—both in the provision and practice of the law, enjoy the same rights and respect the same duties,” the pope said. “Interreligious and intercultural dialogue can make an important contribution to [peace], so that there will be an end to all forms of fundamentalism and terrorism.”

Don't Step Through Temptation's Gateway!
Marijuana is widely regarded as a "gateway" drug, which leads some
users to experiment with more serious drugs. In a similar way, every
time we sin against God's commands, we commit a "gateway" sin. That is
to say, our sin often leads us to engage in other types of sinful
behavior.
Sin becomes a gateway for the human soul to receive "the stuff of hell" rather than "the stuff of heaven." Just consider how this plays out in everyday life. A sinful thought makes it easier to spend more time dwelling on unholy things. Sinful words make it easier to become even more unrighteous in the way we speak. And sinful deeds become a gateway to various types of sinful behavior.

WHAT DOES THE BIBLE SAY ABOUT FAITH?
1. So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.Romans 10:17
2. And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him. Hebrews 11:6
3. Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. For by it the people of old received their commendation. By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible. By faith Abel offered to God a more acceptable sacrifice than Cain, through which he was commended as righteous, God commending him by accepting his gifts. And through his faith, though he died, he still speaks. By faith Enoch was taken up so that he should not see death, and he was not found, because God had taken him. Now before he was taken he was commended as having pleased God. Hebrews 11:1-13:25

Pope Francis has addressed European migration and urged the European Parliament to protect immigrants.
Pope Francis said, "We cannot allow the Mediterranean to become a vast
cemetery,” in regard to the refugees that attempt to cross the dangerous
waters to reach safety.
"The absence of mutual support within the European Union runs the risk
of encouraging... solutions which fail to take into account the human
dignity of immigrants, and thus contribute to slave labour and
continuing social tensions,” the Pope continued.
Christian Today reports that 3,000 migrants died while trying to cross the Mediterranean this year, double the number of deaths in 2013.
Anesty International spokesman Nicolas J. Beger said, “As the EU builds
its walls higher and higher, migrants and refugees are increasingly
taking to the Mediterranean waters in a desperate bid to reach safety
and sanctuary in Europe. Tragically they are increasingly paying the
highest cost, losing their lives at sea."
