Ghana's Presidential Jet breaks down

According to the presidency, a fault on the official jet marooned President John Mahama in the Ashanti region while the nation was celebrating Farmer’s day in the Western Regional district of Sefwi Wiawso.

The national farmers day event which began at 10:00am had travelled over two hours without the President. He joined festivities at approximately 1pm.

The President had attended a breakfast meeting in Accra held for renowned American mega-pastor, T.D Jakes.

The Farmers' day celebration marked on the first Friday of every December. This year's ceremony will recognise the contributions of 71 farmers, fishermen and players in the agricultural sector.

Themed, 'Eat what you grow', President Mahama is expected to make a case for more youthful participation in agriculture; Ghana's second highest income earner after services.
