Psalm 84:11 says, ‘For the Lord God is a sun and shield. The Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.’
A lot of believers have the idea that God is holding back His blessings from them, which is why we hear some Christians saying prayers like ‘let’s bombard the gates of Heaven’ or ‘let’s move the hand of God’ with the aim of releasing the blessings God has supposedly held back.
Understanding Psalm 84:11 is the first step you need to take towards receiving from God. It is obvious that God is not holding back anything from us. His word expressly says that ‘no good thing will He withhold from us’. The question to ask is how much you have received from all that God has made available.
The opposite of withhold is to release, shower or distribute. If you are not manifesting the Blessing, it is not God that is withholding those things from you. Barrenness is not from God because it is not His will for you. The new covenant said There shall be no one barren among you. The unfruitfulness you are experiencing is certainly not from God. He will not withhold anything good from you!
The second part of Psalm 84:11 says, ‘No good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly’. Some people miss it and begin to condemn themselves that they are not upright. They think they are disqualified from this assured promise of God because they believe that they are not upright before Him. Yet, they have forgotten that Jesus Christ died for them and made them qualified by grace and not by works. The very essence of Jesus’ coming is to qualify us to be children of God with its inherent dividends.
Hebrew 11:6 says that, ‘without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that cometh to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him’. Therefore, walking uprightly means pleasing God and this is not dependent your physical righteousness and holiness. Christ has made us the righteousness of God in Him. Therefore, even if you sin, you have Jesus Christ, your advocate who is always standing before God on your behalf. As long as you are born again, you are pleasing to God. In essence, Psalm 84:11 is referring to none other than you as a believer and not some certain set of people!
In Matthew 7:7, Jesus instructed us to ask and it shall be given to us,to seek and we shall find, to knock and the door shall be opened unto us. It is important to note that this scripture does not enjoin us to keep asking, seeking or knocking until whatever we want has been provided for us. That is not the way God operates.
In Daniel 9, Daniel prayed to God and within three minutes his prayers were answered. Also, in Daniel 10, He prayed again to God and received his answer in twenty-one days. It is important to note that the fact that Daniel did not receive the answer to his prayers immediately doesn’t mean that God hadn’t answered his prayers. In fact, as soon as Daniel prayed to God, He sent the answers to his prayer but the Prince of Persia wouldn’t allow the answers to manifest physically, until Michael came and defeated the Prince of Persia. In reality, God had answered Him immediately but it took twenty-one days for his answer to manifest.
In the same vein, once we ask from God, we should believe that we have received from Him because we truly have received from Him. You can find the principle behind this is in Matthew 7:8-11. With all assurance, whatever we ask of God, we also receive from Him.
According to James 1:16-17, all good and perfect gifts come from God who never changes. If God’s word is true, then you are going to move from your present level to the next! You are walking into financial breakthrough, academic success and breakthroughs in your career and businesses!
You need to learn how to receive from God. The Bible is the word of God and it says it contains everything you need. The word says that everything you need has been provided for you in heavenly places. You need to make these spiritual blessings manifest physically. You need to transform these blessings from the spiritual realm to the natural realm and the transformer is your faith. You can’t get this done by waivering, for he who waivers or doubts shall receive nothing from God.
The devil will try to stand in between what God has given you once you have asked and received it. You need your faith without any doubts to receive from God. We need the spiritual converter to transform our blessings to the natural.
