Former Ghana President, Rawlings says Our “foolishness'' causes road deaths not God

Former President Jerry John Rawlings has said attributing every death to God is erroneous because He (God), has given us the “free will” to decide, and often our choices lead us to our graves.
Muslims and Christians generally believe that it is Allah or God who gives (life) and it is He who takes (during death). However, the ex-military leader has argued people’s lifestyles cost them their lives, especially the “silly” deaths on our roads.

“God gave us the free will to worship Him or otherwise… likewise, when a driver fails to have enough sleep and gets so tired behind the wheels and dies in an accident, will you say it is God who caused his death?” Rawlings quizzed at the funeral of the Kwawumanhene in the Eastern region. “No! It is the driver’s foolishness that cost him his life.”

"People talk about me because I am a great man"- Chris Oyakhilome

The Head Pastor of Believers Loveworld aka Christ Embassy Pastor Chris Oyakhilome who has been in the news a lot lately following his very public divorce from wife of over 20 years, Anita, said the reason people talk about him is because he's a great man.
"A man's greatness is measured by the number of those who care about what happens to him or in his life. If 10 people talk about it, then your life has only influenced 10 people. But when the city or people from around the world start talking about it, then your life must have influenced them from that afar." Oyakhilome said

Nigeria did not exchange Synagogue Church victims for arms money– Presidency

Nigeria has denied a report by a South African newspaper that the two countries agreed on a deal to exchange the bodies of South African worshippers who died in a Church building collapse in Lagos, for arms. At least 80 South Africans died when a guest house owned by Synagogue Church collapsed in September, just about the same time South Africa Nigerian seized an airplane with $9.7 million in cash meant for arms purchase for the Nigerian military. Another tranche of N5.3 million was also seized later.

The South African government said the transactions breached its laws and that the money would be forfeited to the state. The controversy about the cash money came as South Africa faced delays in repatriating the bodies of victims of the Synagogue church crash. The report by South Africa-based Mail and Guardian said the two countries agreed to exchange favours by completing the botched arms deal and the repatriation of the bodies. The South African government has denied the report.
But the newspaper cited official correspondences and interviews with top government officials to back its story, which it said remains true. Continue...

5 Ways to Have Peace With God, Yourself and Others (Joyce Meyer).

We can have a lot of things in life, but if we don't have peace, we're never going to truly enjoy our lives the way God intended.

First Peter 3:11 (AMP) is one of my favorite scriptures. It says, "Let him search for peace…and seek it eagerly. [Do not merely desire peaceful relations with God, with your fellowmen, and with yourself, but pursue, go after them!]"
"Pursue" is a strong word. It requires action and doing whatever it takes to maintain peace in our lives. It means not always getting "our way" or having the last word in an argument. It requires us to trust God even more with the people in our lives. But it's all worth it.
Are you ready to enjoy new levels of peace? If so, here are some ways you can cultivate peace with God, yourself and others…Continue after the cut.

Quran Should be Read at Prince Charles' Coronation, Anglican Bishop Says.

A senior Church of England bishop has said that Prince Charles' coronation service should include a reading from the Quran so that Muslims feel "embraced" by the nation – a proposal which is being criticized by some Christian groups in the U.K.
Lord Harries of Pentregarth, the former Bishop of Oxford who now serves as an assistant bishop in the diocese of Southwark, made the proposal during a House of Lords debate, U.K.'s Daily Mail reports.
Reading the Quran at the coronation would mean the Church of England is taking the lead in "exercising its historic position in a hospitable way," as well as allow leaders of non-Christian religions to give their blessing to the new king, the bishop was quoted as saying.
